Connick - Permission Granted For Re Build Of Bosheen Bungalows
The Department of Environment has approved an application for funding by New Ross Town Council to demolish the Bungalows at the front of the Bosheen Estate and to build 17 new housing units to replace them according to local Fianna Fail TD Sean Connick.
Speaking after receiving this confirmation Deputy Connick said “I am very happy that the Minister for Housing, Michael Finneran TD, has given permission to New Ross Town Council to build these new housing units in the Bosheen. These houses will be extremely modern in design and will be very comfortable places to live in for their residents.
This decision follows an intensive lobbying campaign by myself at government level. I have had numerous meetings with Minister Finneran to express to him the importance of this proposal and to ensure that he realised the need to replace the existing bungalows in the Bosheen with modern, purpose built housing. I submitted a Parliamentary Question to Minister Finneran in the Dail recently regarding the proposals for the Bosheen and this decision to proceed with the construction of new housing was made within two weeks of my question being tabled. I am glad that Minister Finneran acted so quickly after my Question to him in the Dail and that he has now given his approval for this development.
I look forward to seeing these new houses under construction and I hope that the residents of them will be happy in their new homes.”
