Three Wexford schools to benefit from plan for high-speed wireless broadband
Three Wexford schools are to get high-speed wireless broadband connectivity as part of the Government's pilot plan to give students instant internet access anywhere in the school, according to local Fianna Fail TD Sean Connick.
"Good Counsel College in New Ross, Mary Ward in Gorey and the Vocational College in Enniscorthy will benefit from this pilot scheme that will run until the end of 2011."
"The Government is keen to support schools in the development of their IT facilities and to develop schools into centres of e-learning."
"The provision of high-speed wireless broadband will result in students being able to upload and download material faster, access high-volume digital educational content and connect instantly to websites from any part of the school."
"I am sure that students and teachers at these schools will welcome becoming part of the pilot programme," concluded Deputy Connick.
