Funding boost for Wexford farmers as Farm Waste Management Scheme payments start

Wexford Fianna Fail TD Sean Connick has welcomed the news that Farm Waste Management Scheme payments are to commence.

"The Department of Agriculture is to being paying out under the Farm Waste Management Scheme. This is the second payment, worth 40% of the amount."

"The payment of this grant is very timely given the appalling weather conditions that have put local farmers under severe pressure."

"The final amount of funding of 20% will be made in early 2011."

"By the time the final payment is issued under the Farm Waste Management Scheme over

€1.2 billion will have been paid out, all of which is funded by our own Exchequer."
