Wexford farmers to benefit from payment of Single Farm Payment

Wexford farmers will benefit from the balance of the Single Farm Payment that will commence tomorrow according to local Fianna Fail TD Sean Connick.

"The payment of the balance of the Single Farm Payment amounting to 30% of the grant will begin tomorrow the 1st of December."

"The Minister secured permission from the EU Commission to make an advance payment to farmers six weeks ago. This 70% advance payment was unprecedented but needed to be made in recognition of the financial hardship being suffered by Irish farmers."

"I am hopeful that the advance payment and now this balance will assist local farmers with their cash flow, particularly in the run up to Christmas," concluded Deputy Connick.
